There's lists like these and many more around the web.

The one I linked in particular mentioned two in New Zealand (AWWW YEAAA):

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu (More of an awesome name to me personally)

and

Whakapapa (pronounced 'Fuck a Papa')

However no mention of Te Puke, which sounds just fine when pronounced in the native language but ask any tourist to say it out loud X^D

Going back to America, that list also didn't address Shit, Texas and Boring, Oregon

I've been through Boring, OR. It was pretty entertaining to see "Boring Fire Dept." and such.

I actually went there, normally when me and my family go visit my grandparents.

I'm from Portland and I still think this is funny. They had to put Boring over Oregon City….

Also, I must quote from one of my favourite scenes from The Simpsons.

Krusty: OK, memorize these funny place names: Walla Walla. Keokuk. Cucamonga. Seattle --
Homer: [laughs] Stop it, you're killing me! [laughs more] Seattle.
Krusty: [groans]

Not a town, but I did come across a street called Socrum Loop once. I read it as something else.

Oh, and Whittakers. Read that as White-takers. That one is actually a town.
