I have seen comics like this from time to time, mostly on the nationality stereotypes page.

I'm curious about the origin.

It's a really old reaction face from 4chan.

It might be part of a larger comic, I'll take a look around.

Well, how widespread is it?

It's rarely seen on steam. It's in the national stereotypes picture and is rarely used as a reaction face. It's a sub-meme.
Also, there is a derrivative:

This picture is made by ~3-angled-blue, the one who did the V-rage comic and the Trollbait picture.
But, how is it different from any computer reaction face (aside from 3 or 4 variations)?
Has it been used as a rage face in rage comics?
