Executive Action in Favor of Illegal Immigrants

So, as of recently, Obama has decided to take executive action by shielding almost 5 million illegal immigrants in the USA from the risk of deportation. This was a pretty great decision IMO, as it quells any of the fears that immigrant families may have had of being booted from this country. I honestly don't see why this act was fought so much in the first place.

Any other opinions on this subject?

I'm all for the President's decision not to deport five million men, women, and children from this glorious land we call 'Murica.
Let us live together peaceably as 'Muricans.

I'm not against the ruling, I hate imaginary lines on the ground as much as the next guy, but I feel like this is a grievous misuse of executive orders. I'd stay neutral if the order was challenged by congress or the supreme court.
