Origin

This video was first broadcasted on 'TyC Sports', a sports channel in Argentina. It shows a young man who had just bought a hamburger at a soccer game for 15 Argentinian pesos, who proceeds to make it clear that this is far too expensive. He says that, with the same amount of money, he could get an "Alto Guiso" (Guiso is a traditional meat and vegetable stew. It is quite cheap, and is usually consumed by the working class).

Usage

The key to this meme is the use of the adjective 'Alto' (lit. 'high'), which is used widely among the 'cumbieros', a lower class in Argentina, to replace other adjectives like great, good, outstanding, etc.

Spread

It is quite popular on Taringa!, an Argentine site that's similar to reddit, and the original YouTube video has over 850000 views, and several spin-offs.

Looks like the ā€œoriginalā€ youtube video has over 500,000 views and some derivatives were created. There is some spread. Entry needs more work, though. I advise not to deadpool this one.
