El hashtag se volvió popular rapidamente entre el 25 de Noviembre, 2011 y el 26 de Noviembre, 2011. Convirtiendolo en el primer MEME exitoso en Nicaragua.

A personal video taken that day with a mobile phone and posted on Youtube on November 25, 2011 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ub4dKZEKnno ) then someone shared the video on Twitter using the hashtag #BritneySpearsMeEstaSiguiendo followed by various macros and videos.
