Doom Paul is an advice image macro series featuring Dr. Ron Paul. The background images and ‘film’ in the pictures indicate that a nuclear bomb is going or will go off. The images usually depict Dr Paul saying that the outcome of a bomb being dropped could have been avoided. These images jokingly depict what could happen if Ron Paul is not elected President or at the very least, if his advice was not taken in terms of avoiding or going to war.

Origin

In 2009 on 4chans /new/ (news) board, a user posted the first doom paul image after he lost the 2008 republican nomination with the quote “All is lost” and “I told you so.” The user said the Apaulcolypse was coming and that these were the last days. 4chan soon removed the /new/ board after the mod moot got sick of the racism on the board. The meme vanished for awhile but was soon mirrored on 4chon.net, on it’s backup /new/ board. Many of the images were created there and remained. Until the mod moot felt bad and created a board for the /new/s men again dubbing it /pol/ (Politically incorrect). Soon the images were posted again on the newly created /pol/ and became a huge hit. Now every thread on /pol/ has at least two or more doom paul images in the threads. Dr.DoomPaul then started making threads and archives of the images so they would not be lost again if moot deletes the board again.

He later created a Facebook page to compile and share any images that other users create. The image was first meant to be used for Trolling but Ron Paul supporters quickly started using and creating images in their favor.
