Hustlin' Holmes is an exploitable image derived from the BBC TV series "Sherlock", starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. The template image, depicting Cumbatch as Holmes running across the frame, was taken behind the scenes by a crew member during filming of series 2 in central London. The image was released as a teaser by the BBC, and before long the image found its way onto Tumblr, which hosts a very large Sherlock fandom (known as the "Sherlockians"). "Hustlin' Holmes" describes the practice of drawing onto this image in Paint, Photoshop, GIMP or a similar package, for comedic effect. For the most part, this meme has remained on Tumblr where it has spread and evolved. In some cases, the image has been augmented with other, similar memes depicting running persons, such as the "Chubby Bubbles Girl" and "Strutting Leo".
