Hypnotoad is a large, toad-like alien originating from the television series Futurama. First appearing in the episode “The Day the Earth Stood Stupid”, which aired on February 18, 2001, it has since gained memetic popularity for its ability to hypnotize people and beings into a trance-like state of its own bidding.

Usage

The meme is invoked when one references Hypnotoad, then abruptly ends the sentence with “ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD,” implying that he or she has succumbed to its control. This usage is similar to the related meme Candlejack.
