"Is This Paranormal" or "Is this paranormal?" is a common phrase used by trolls on 4chan's /x/ (Paranormal) board. The exact origin is unknown due to 4chan's anonymous nature, though the usage on /x/ is somewhat common. As /x/ is for the purpose of posting strange and paranormal experiences, some trolls break up the board by spamming the phrase "Is this paranormal" (usually without a question mark, as poor grammar further irritates most users) accompanied by a disturbing and completely unrelated image.

The phrase is sometimes used to mock users who post supposedly paranormal stories that seem fake, or as just plain spam and outright trolling.
