The owl, known as Kaepora Gaebora in the game, Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time, was always giving Link advice throughout his childhood. There was many examples of this owl. For one, he gave a long-winded advice, and at the end, he would ask the player, or Link, if he understood the explanation. The player would sometimes not even pay attention, and with the Yes and No options switched around, the player would accidentally select No, and he would re-explain everything over, and that made very many players rage. If you did select Yes, he would say O RLY!?!? He also at sometimes twists his head a 180 degree turn to where he would not look angry. Next to Navi, he was basically named the "chatterbox" of Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time. According to the book, Hyrule Historia, Raura followed Link's adventures before Link drew the Master Sword as the owl, Kaepora Gaebora. Kaepora Gaebora also appears after Link has pulled the sword. Taken literally this means that Kaepora Gaebora can exist independently from Rauru, only possessed by him till a certain time. However, this statement may also merely be a mistake on the part of the writers, intended to mean that Kaepora Gaebora is always a form of Rauru.
