"Wilf the fell terrier" was a dog character used in an SQA Standard Grade General English reading exam paper as part of a passage extracted from The Guardian which can be found here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2010/jan/23/barn-camping-lake-district-walking . On the 26th of April 2012 thousands of 4th year pupils across the highlands in Scotland were issued with the exam paper in the morning, and when returned home, took the complete piss out of it over several networking sites. In just 24 hours many popular Facebook and Twitter pages had been made such as this: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wilf/356989674364687 and this: https://twitter.com/#!/WilfTheD0g gaining thousands of likes and followers in just minutes. Many memes were made taking the piss out of parts quoted from the exam paper and have gained thousands of likes – one of them stands at 10,000+ likes.

Alongside Wilf the fell terrier, many 4th year pupils that sat the Standard Grade General exam paper also sat the Standard Grade Credit exam paper that featured a story about a Kouros statue that just didn't look right – this got the piss taken out of it aswell but wasn't as funny or as popular as Wilf the fell terrier.
