Not really. According to evolutionary theorist the common belief is the reason humans have such large vibrant lips compared to most other mammal is because we walk upright so our females can’t show of their goods to potential mates as easily. Most other mammals walk on all fours so it’s easy for males to see if females have healthy looking equipment. But once we started walking upright females’ plumbing became less noticeable so early males had to look elsewhere for the same signs they use to look for. This ended up translating to males seeking females with large vibrant lips as they emulated their other lips, this caused these females to be the ones more likely to mate thus passing the trait down to the next generations. Then the trait just stuck around after we became more sophisticated because we were still hardwired to find it attractive even if we no longer understood why.
