Peach Time is an exploitable Rage Comic in which a smiling version of the Dude Come On character produces a peach out of thin air and declares that it's "peach time." The comic spawned many derivatives playing off the original's abrupt and surreal nature, particularly on Tumblr.

Origins

On May 16th, 2013, Tumblr^[3] user ajaxdotcom uploaded a two-panel Rage Comic in which a smiling Dude Come On character makes a peach appear from thin air and then says, "peach time." The account has since been deleted and the post has been lost.

On August 12th, 2013, Redditor /u/f7u12_hampton submitted the Peach Time comic, titled "le peach rage," to /r/f7u12_ham/^[1] (shown below). The post received over 700 upvotes in seven years. The Imgur^[2] link attached to the post shows that the comic was uploaded to the site on August 11th, garnering over 68,000 views in seven years.

Spread

New variations of the comic began popping up shortly after the original was uploaded, particularly on Tumblr and Reddit. For example, on December 9th, 2013, Redditor /u/QuillJS uploaded a version of the comic replacing the peach with a burger to /r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu^[4] (shown below, left). In May 2015, Tumblr^[8] user heyyaesviernes posted a series of increasingly verbose Peach Time memes, garnering over 39,000 notes in five years. On October 1st, 2015, Tumblr^[5] user wingedcatgirl-archive posted a version of the comic replacing the peach with a pumpkin (shown below, right).

Tumblr users continued to make new variations of the meme over the course of the decade, often finding mild success on the platform. On September 26th, 2018, Tumblr^[6] user sheepytina uploaded a variation of the meme referencing Super Mario Bros. character Princess Peach, garnering over 21,000 notes in two years (shown below).

On January 16th, 2019, Tumblr^[9] user ventsnstuff uploaded a version of the meme reminding users to take any medication they may require, garnering over 900 notes in two years (shown below, left). On June 1st, 2019, Tumblr^[7] user turtletoria posted an LGBTQ+ pride themed version of the comic, garnering over 1,700 upvotes in a year (shown below, right).
