Mario Kart - All we need now are Inklings in Smash and I can finally die happy

At this rate, why not just make a Smash Kart game?

Is it too much to hope for that they might actually put Captain Falcon in Mario Kart 8 this time? Because if not I swear its as if they are trying to put only what they will think will sell rather than what would fit in. They allow his car and two maps themed on F-zero to be in the game but won't actually let him be in the game which honestly bothers me to no end.
