MY FIRST SAMPLES OF CHEMICAL X WERE TAKEN FROM A SMALL RESERVOIR IN JAPAN FULL OF AN UNKNOWN SUBSTANCE PRETTY DISGUSTING STUFF ALL BLACK AND MUCKY AND 0OZING LIKE SYRUP AWESOME! BEING A SCIENTIST, I'VE NEVER BEEN VERY SUPERSTITIOUS, AND I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT THIS STUFF REALLY WAS. ..BUT I cOULDN'T E 0.0 FIGURE IT OUT MY EQUIPMENT COULDN'T EVEN PROCESS IT S0 I BOTTLED IT UP AND BROUGHT IT BACK HOME TO TOWNSVILLE THIS WAS A NEW UNDISCOVERED ELEMENT I DECIDED TO NAME IT "CHEMICAL X"-- BECAUSE "X" IS THE SYMBOL USED FOR AN UNKNOWN VARIABLE IN AN EQUATION THE LOCAL LEGENDS DESCRIBED IT AS THE REMAINS OF A GREAT EVIL... ...THAT WOULD CURSE ANYONE WHO CAME TOO CLOSE I SPENT A FEW WEEKS ANALYZING AND TESTING THE MATERIAL. AND BECAUSE IT SOUNDED COOL. IT WAS SO VOLATILE AND COMPLEX THAT EVENTUALLY I GAVE UP AND STORED IT WITH MY OTHER SAMPLES IN CASE ANYTHING EVER CAME TO MIND CHEINICAL A FEW YEARS LATER... ..IT WAS ACCIDENTALLY ADDED AS AN EXTRA INGREDIENT TO THE PERFECT LITTLE GIRL CONCOCTION.

These are my thoughts:

Samurai Jack takes place in the alternate timeline where Aku wasn't defeated

Powerpuff Girls takes place after Jack makes it back, defeats Aku, and lives happily ever after
Utonium is a descendant of Jack
Chemical X consists of the physical remains of Aku
All the monsters in Townsville are manifestations of the remains of Aku's influence

I loved thinking this and making these connections when I was a kid. Although, that ironically means that the girls are using Aku's power against himself.
