The Amazing World of Gumball Animation Crossovers refers to a fan art trend that attempts to prove the hypothesis that any animated character, regardless of art style, would fit into The Amazing World of Gumball. The trend grew popular on Twitter in April of 2024.

Origin

On April 21st, 2024, Twitter user @randidesu^[1] posted a crossover edit that puts Friday Night Funkin' character Senpai into The Amazing World of Gumball with the caption "YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET ME BACK INTO MY GAME?!". The tweet (shown below) received over 30,000 likes and over 4,500 retweets in four days.

Later that same day, Twitter user @JeoyojakeBruh^[2] quote retweeted the post with the sentence, "im now fully convinced that you can put ANY character, regardless of their artstyle, into tawog and they'd fit into it perfectly.". The post (shown below) received over 120,000 likes and over 2,100 quote retweets in four days.

Spread

The prompt by @JeoyojakeBruh inspired many Twitter users to test the hypothesis by posting crossover art in which characters from other media franchises appear in Gumball. For example, on April 23rd, 2024, user @Fidbros^[3] posted art depicting the Gumball cast next to Stan from South Park, gaining over 2,000 retweets and 22,000 likes in two days (shown below, left). On April 21st, user @ZTwinsanity^[4] posted art of Gumball characters next to Goku, gaining over 4,900 retweets and 45,000 likes in four days (shown below, right).

Other popular examples include an April 23rd video post by @DynamoSuperX^[5] that crosses Gumball with Regular Show, gaining over 9,800 retweets and 72,000 likes (shown below, top). On the 24th, Twitter user @MavsFromMars^[6] posted an edit that added an animated LeBron James in a You Are My Sunshine edit, gaining over 840 retweets and 4,600 likes in one day (shown below, bottom).
