The only thing weirder than this coincidence is the show itself.

"Okay, are you seriously telling me that not one of you can come up with a good name for the new Sonic?"

"Really? Well, then, let's hear it!"

"You remember that old Sonic cartoon? You know, the one where Sonic is voiced by Jaleel White?"

"You mean Sonic SatAM?"

"No, I mean the shitty one!"

"The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog?"

"No, I mean the one from the tail end of the 90s'! The one even worse than that! …Besides, Adventures technically already has an animated adaptation."

"Then that just leaves one left…Dear God, you're not talking about-"

"Yes. I'm talking about Sonic Underground."

"How dare you bring up that travesty?!"

"W-Well, just hear me out, you guys…you see, the other day, I noticed something. We all know that the characters SONia and ManIC are named after the first and last respective parts of Sonic's name, right?"

"Right."

"Well, this is what I noticed: If you switch around the 'Son' and 'ic' with the 'Man' and 'ia,' you get…'Sonic Mania'."

"…GENIUS! 'Sonic Mania'…That actually sounds like a good name for a Sonic game! I'll have to give you a PRRROMOTION!"
