but really though, why do sci-fi writers always stop at human looking androids? Given how degenerate we all are as human beings (and with the help of an extensive modding community that would be sure to arise) there'd be all kinds of different robots walking the streets.

Furry's, fan characters, regular characters, eldritch abominations, Gundam's (probably not to scale), retro styled (because hipsters), and of course Waifu's.

point being they should really broaden their horizons with how weird it would get if we are given this technology.
