I think that's because it's relative to each person likes. I consider myself liking every volume even if they had flaws. But of course, I don't love everything I see as volume 5 had a lot of flaws, though they are advancing from that point and getting better by volume.
It's ok if you don't like how they have been done as well as it's ok if I say that I liked them…

It's just that, sadly, most of the people forget that there are others who think differently.

Now as for not hearing criticism… It's kinda the same. It might sound too deep but, the truth you(and probably some others) believe is not the truth the "main" fanbase believes.

It isn't Nora's choice to keep them, it's Ruby's.
Besides I find it worse the fact that everyone but Ren is giving Ironwood crap while he does his best to keep everything under control and that Fiona didn't tell Robyn that Penny wasn't behind the massacre.

Despite that, I think it was an okay episode.
