I think a simple implementation of "Show fewer Blank" buttons could work. Personal purging of the gallery from often spammed images as anyone sees fit.

Granted, at the time, MLP images were uploaded to an insane degree. So it was understandably warranted. But no reason more filter options can't be expanded upon.
