Their heads tilt forward when derpy pops up because in animation, you always move something a little bit in the opposite direction of where it's going to move before it starts moving that way. It's called the "anticipation" motion, and its what gives cartoons their bounciness. Plus, if they were "leaning into a kiss" as many slash fanboys wishfully think, they are too far away from each other.
