It could also refer to that scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where Indie is fighting the Nazis in Marion's tavern and the throws the headpiece that they want into the fireplace and the Nazi leader burns his hand trying to grab it:

It would make sense for there to be at least one Indiana Jones allusion, given what the episode is about.
