ok, this is what I got from a wikia article: "In this incarnation, April is 16 years old: The reason for this is that Nickelodeon thought it would be odd for an adult woman to be hanging out with teenagers" and she IS a year older then the turtles, I actually kinda like this April just because its something new, personality wise and other stuff like that
