It is a joke, but in the context that it’s a parody of 1980s era rap music. Pinkie’s clothes look a lot like Run DMC, for one, and the video released by EW shows the song plays out like a video recorded off an old VHS tape with fake scan lines and semi-washed out video quality, not to mention the whole thing being in a 4:3 aspect ratio instead of widescreen.
