There would have been a major story shift for an entire season, and the themes that would have been approached would have made it more like an adventure series than a slice-of-life series. I do think it would be a nice thing if at some point Hasbro would make an FIM movie with an epic action/adventure dark/edgy theme that would reflect the essence of what Lauren wanted to do with the show, even if it does not comport completely with her original plans.

Because even as someone who enjoyed EG, I DO get it… I can't help but think that there were some Bronies out there who saw the Lego Movie and thought, "Damn, that could have been US…" I get that there's an appetite for something truly epic.

But it is not too late for us to get a movie like that… Indeed, the Lego Movie was no less than the 24th feature length animation featuring the Lego franchise. The future still has opportunities and possibilities (I hope).
