Japan, once again proving they give zero fucks about Western culture's petty first world problems and seeing the positive side of things instead. Seriously, they legitimately saw no problem at all until it was explained to them. One of the groups that "social justice" groups claim to defend needs no defending, it seems.

Not counting suicide rates and relationship problems, Japanese people pretty much got the right idea about how to be a functional modern society. Be more like them, world.

People always love to bitch about "fetishizing muh culture". Motherfucker I am happy Japan is "fetishizing muh culture" both in literal terms in the case of Maids (although that's more of a general European thing) and figuratively in the case of all the assorted Celtic stuff that appears in their popular culture.

You'd think that someone in Ireland or Scotland would have made a Cú Chulainn anything but all we have are a pair of translations of his myth and a crappy pseudo-childhood tale that's so sanitized it could pass for a Disney film. (Cú Chulainn in the myths was seducing and boinking women at the age of four as well as killing fucking everything)

Japan, on the other hand, has made multiple works featuring the character (not to mention other Celtic characters such as Scáthach, Medb, McRoy, Finn McCumai etc) that not only do the characters justice but give them depth that not even the original myths managed.

Japan, keep doing what you do.
