FAIL - Flipping the Birdy to the Judge

One of the facebook comments called it a power trip; I disagree completely. Watching the clip, the girl was either completely dismissive of the whole situation, or she was on some sort of drug (the judge even asked her as much at one point, since her behavior was so casual about the situation she was in). Either way, you don’t take any kind of bail hearing, criminal case, etc. so flippantly, and you show the judge some respect. He was actually pretty laid-back and easy-going until she continued to act silly (“How much is your jewelry worth?” “Money!”) and then got rude, at which point he was well within his rights to impose a contempt, imho.

Rule #1 of court is don’t piss off the judge. It seems like such a simple rule to follow, but some people just don’t get it.
