Digital Rights Management involves treating digital products as if they are physical property, through imposing arbitrary and artificial limits on their use. An eBook that without DRM would be freely and infinitely copyable/readable, is encoded so that it can only be used for a month (like a library check-out), before you must buy it.

This chair demonstrates how silly DRM seems when brought into physical space, by highlighting how unnatural the process truly is.
