Anatomy of a Gamer refers to an exploitable one-panel comic originally posted by Twitter / X user @WholesomeOrenji that depicts a "gamer" and their "girlfriend" with various clothing items and objects labeled with humorous explanations. After appearing in late April 2024, the panel became a redraw meme and inspired myriad variations as Twitter users crafted parody versions to skewer fans of various media franchises.

Origin

On April 19th, 2024, Twitter / X user @WholesomeOrenji[1] posted an annotated illustration portraying an archetypal "gamer" next to his "child gf." Within less than a day, it gained more than 5,000 retweets and 33,000 likes (shown below).

The illustration quickly spawned a series of parodies modeled after various popular media and online phenomena. For example, on April 21st, 2024, Twitter user @scottegguseful[2] posted a Pokémon variation, gaining over 150 retweets and 1,100 likes in one day (shown below, left).

On April 20th, X user @punishedtren[3] posted a Brony version of the meme, gaining over 200 retweets and 1,600 likes in two days (shown below, right).

Additionally, the "Child GF" character inspired some fan art as the format spread. For example, on April 21st, 2024, Twitter user @morebreasts[4] posted art that gained over 2,500 retweets and 20,000 likes in one day (shown below, left). On April 22nd, user @akableak[5] also posted fan art, gaining over 180 retweets and 1,800 likes in a matter of hours (shown below, right).



Anti-chan

Anti-chan refers to a reimagination of Child GF from the Anatomy of a Gamer meme as a character who despises and opposes lolicons and lolicon ships (is an "anti"). The character was promptly hijacked by lolicons, who created suggestive and provocative artworks of her, similarly to the Stick-chan meme several years prior.

Since this is still getting traction after my initial comments I need to reiterate this again. I was replying to what may be some troll but the spammy comments got deleted, which I'm relieved about anyway.

Look, this is over cartoon child pornography. It's really heavy fiction, yes, but to equate that to minor abuse and CSAM is dangerous. If everyone believed in this assumption not only would there be undeserved attention against artists and pornographic creators, but that attention would be wasted in finding actual pedophiles and traffickers and IRL abuse victims.

Validating the loli=CP comparison would also enable grossly miscalculated assumptions of mental health and illness along with media consumption. Angry replies like "THIS SHIT BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD" further illustrate why we need to take a more sophisticated approach to similarly weighted topics and establish a consensus from them.

That's not even getting into the violations of free speech and artistic expression. If loli-related content gets outlawed in the States altogether it'll enable a slippery slope that benefits nobody but clueless moralists. You have folks from lawyers and psychologists to even the FBI and IWF telling you not to report this stuff to them because it's an absolute waste of time and resources.

If you want something to argue about, make a counterargument with what I just typed, but also make sure said argument is impersonal and based on factual research. Otherwise, there could be another Roe v. Wade overturning-type thing.
