It's bee years since the infamous wave of Forbidden Snacks memes brought us Tide Pod mania, but perhaps the most appealing forbidden snacks come from Earth itself.

Twitter users were left salivating over rocks earlier this week when user @fartpowder showed a "chicken tender crystal" to the timeline.


The chunk of red calcite had Twitter (and news organizations) ready to do anything to taste the divine tendie.




But perhaps more surprising than seeing a tendo-looking crystal was the sheer amount of tasty-looking rocks the science community has been hiding from the general public. We have the cheesecake rock:

The meat rocks:


Truly, Earth has given us a trove of delicious, nutritious foods, but it is unfortunately disappointing that some of its most appetizing gifts are rocks.
