However, when the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers debuted their new mascot nearly a month ago, the left may have just found its… Man? Ball? Thing??? Gritty may be ugly and slightly more terrifying than any other mascot in professional sports, but this led to him being widely accepted by the city of Philadelphia, already a bit of a haven for lefty sports Twitter. That Gritty would come to be used to express lefty-sentiments in memes was the next logical step. The perfect storm of circumstances brought Gritty to Antifa, and a ridiculous subgenre of memes was born.
