About

Treatler or Treatlerite is a slang term that combines the words "treat" and "Hitler." The word was popularized on Twitter / X in late 2024, often used to admonish people who are over-reliant on services like Doordash, Uber Eats and Instacart. The term originated from X user @posting_forever and their followers and was originally used to criticize liberals unable to concede that their luxurious lifestyles often come at the cost of less prosperous people or nations. Such discussions later came to revolve around the pricing of food-delivery services, with (often disabled) people bemoaning the rising costs of home-delivery takeout food and another group criticizing them for treating a luxury service like a fundamental right. The Adolf "Treatler" discourse subsequently continued into early 2025.

However, Rufus refuses to accept her apology, calling her lateness "unacceptable" and saying that he will be complaining to DoorDash about her.

X[18] user @divya_venn replied to the post, writing, "I also hate incompetence. I hate it in the only place I have any control over it: myself. It is deeply incompetent to outsource a task and then throw a tantrum when it isn’t done the way you would do it."

X[19] user @icmpressure then doubled down on his attitude in the replies to the tweet, writing, "The entire service economy operates on the premise that we pay money to workers to outsource various services/products. Mistakes happen sure but good service & basic competence are to be expected in exchange for us paying them. By this reasoning, do you not think we have the right to complain about bad service at a restaurant simply because we can eat at home?"
