The Best of "Smash Ultimate" Memes from Yesterday's Nintendo Direct

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate isn't out until December 7th, but it's already made a massive impact online. In the four months since the game was announced in March, KnowYourMeme has documented multiple memes that spawned from the trailers and announcements presented during each Smash-related Nintendo Direct presentation, which in themselves have taken on a stop-the-presses level of importance in the meme community.

The August 8th Direct was no exception; a jam-packed, surprisingly violent 26-minute presentation gifted the internet plenty of material to joke about, including Luigi being fucking murdered, King DeDeDe laughing his ass off and a pair of terrified Kongs.
