Sometimes, however, a conservative Twitter account will launch into a take so bizarre that it simply cannot be ignored. These are the roots from which Italian model Gio Scotti was roped into a meme about her looking like a 13-year-old Ancient Greek towel boy.

Sometime in May 2022, a Twitter account by the name @HINDUSTANILION5 posted a video of Gio Scotti smiling into her camera. The video was a rather innocuous TikTok posted by Scotti for her more normal and sane followers, but @HINDUSTANILION5 posted it alongside text that read, "This is what 13 year old boys looked like in Ancient Greece. And you wonder why they were all gay pedophiles, shii I would be one too.🤷🏿🤷🏿🤷🏿." More than 150 people liked the tweet on Twitter before the account was terminated.

Needless to say, the tweet had a lot of other users going, "ayo?"

How Did The Gio Scotti Towel Boy Meme Spread?

While @HINDUSTANILION5's tweet (and account) were eventually suspended, another user decided to pick up the mantel of Worst Poster Ever. @SCHIZO_FREQ posted the same video of Scotti, this time captioning it, "This is what the towelboys ancient Roman warriors had sex with looked like. This is what they took from us."

The tweet set off another frenzy of weirdos online reimagining a real living woman as an imaginary fictional minor, including a person who either was @HINDUSTANILION5's new account or simply decided to claim the unfortunate moniker.

Not everyone was on board though, since the absurdity of the tweet made screenshots and parodies of it go viral immediately and repeatedly.

Does Gio Scotty Know About The 13-Year-Old Boy Comparisons?

Unfortunately, she does. The Italian model took to her Instagram stories sometime in February 2023, over 10 months after the initial horrifying tweet, to acknowledge the meme and simply say she does not know what to think of the tweets.

Most of the memes regarding the Gio Scotti ancient Greek boy comparisons make fun of the trad accounts perpetuating the idea that real women would be hotter if they were femboys instead.
