Back in 2020, a TikToker named @AudreyPeters uploaded a video where she comedically calls out several red flags you might find in a guy's bedroom. In the video she specifically calls navy blue bed sheets a red flag, saying she hooked up with a guy with blue bed sheets who was the "spawn of Satan." However, this was only the beginning of the blue bed sheet slander.

In 2021, comedian Mary Beth Barone repeated the navy sheets claim during a standup set, attributing them to "f-boys." She elaborated on this claim to InsideHook, telling them, "I think navy sheets are popular among men because, and I’m generalizing here, maybe men don’t feel the need to wash their sheets as much? Navy helps in this effort to strip the bed and wash the sheets as little as possible since navy is a dark color, it doesn’t pick up stains and spots."

From there, the claim gained viral spread on social media, forever conflating navy blue sheets with f-boys.
