What Is 'Memenade' And Why Are People Hating On It? The Backlash Against The 'Dank Reddit Memes' YouTuber Explained

Meme compilations used to be a massively popular genre of videos on YouTube, and nobody did it quite like Memenade, who is still uploading to this day.
While Memenade has a dedicated fanbase of over 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube, his views have taken a fall in recent years, and now, he's become the subject of mockery on sites like TikTok and Twitter / X.
So why exactly are people hating on Memenade right now? Here's what you need to know.
What Is 'Memenade?'
Memenade is a YouTube channel run by Finnish content creator Arttu that's been uploading daily meme compilation videos since 2018. In that time, Memenade has posted thousands of videos, some of which boast tens of millions of views, while garnering over 1.7 million subscribers.
Arttu has also opened several other side channels and social media pages for Memenade.
While Memenade was notably popular in its first few years, the channel's viewership has declined notably recently, with some of the most recent videos gaining between 8,000 and 30,000 views.
The channel's content has not changed much since 2018, consisting of rapid-fire memes with a text-to-speech narration overtop.
Why Are People Hating On 'Memenade?'
While Memenade has largely fallen out of relevancy in 2025, the channel has recently become the subject of critical and sometimes hateful memes.
This seems to have started after X user @seiyaposting posted a screenshot of Memenade's most recent videos captioned, "in the big 25," a phrase used to poke fun at something that was once popular but is now irrelevant or washed up in 2025.

Since then, TikTokers have started posting videos set to "Jazz In Paris," a regularly used background track by Memenade, to make fun of the content creator. Mostly, these videos share a cringe, Reddit-tier meme that Memenade might feature in his videos and use sarcastic language to celebrate the meme as if it's funny.
Essentially, they're making fun of the memes used in the videos and the fact that meme compilation content is much less popular than it used to be.
