What Is The 'Asian Andy Squatter Saga?' The IRL Streamer's Viral Squatter Eviction Livestreams Explained
One of the craziest livestreaming series of 2024 just ended and it all started when IRL Kick streamer Asian Andy was called to his sister's Airbnb to evict a squatter.
The streams, now known online as the "Asian Andy Squatter Saga," took place starting in late June 2024, and Andy has been uploading edits to YouTube over the last few months, documenting the creative ways he tried to get the serial squatter out of the home.
In case you're unfamiliar with this story or just looking for details after getting lost while watching it, here's how it all went down.
What Is The 'Asian Andy Squatter Saga?'
In late June 2024, IRL streamer Asian Andy started a livestream from his sister's Airbnb, explaining to his audience that she had a squatter that wouldn't leave.
The squatter, named Mary Cameron (aka Mary Bakrania), purportedly moved in for 28 days then falsely claimed she was there for over 30, meaning she could stay in the home against the owner's wishes because of "squatter's rights."
Purportedly, she has a history of doing this, with several reports in the news about her pulling similar stunts surfacing after the fact.
While nobody could legally force her out of the home, Asian Andy decided to try another tactic — annoying her and making her life as difficult as possible to convince her to leave.
This involved playing extremely loud music and sound effects all day, smoking copius amounts of blunts in the residence constantly, banging on her door and generally messing with her.
During all of this, Mary called the cops on Andy several times, but they knew who she was and were aware of the situation, eventually asking her to stop calling or they would issue a citation for misuse of 911.
After a few streams, Andy called another streamer, Scuffed Justin Carrey (or SJC), to come over and help get Mary out of the home. Similarly, he began annoying her as much as possible and even chased her down the street.
Allegedly, Mary finally ended up getting arrested temporarily and was sent to a mental hospital for a few days before she was later released.
In the final part of the saga, Andy, Carrey and the homeowner went into Mary's room to see what she left behind, finding it significantly damaged with garbage strewn across the room, among other things.
Now, according to Andy and his family, Mary is suing the homeowners and Carrey for wrongful eviction, bringing the whole saga to a strange end.
How Is Social Media Reacting To The Squatter Saga?
Andy uploaded five edits of the squatter streams between August and September 2024, each gaining a significant number of views ranging from several hundred thousand to millions per video.
Clips from the streams, in which Andy annoys Mary in a variety of funny ways, have been uploaded across social media, drawing a lot of eyes to the incident.
The streams are being celebrated by many as some of the most entertaining livestream content of 2024, while also raising awareness about Mary and her alleged serial squatting habits.
