What Is The 'Mobil 1' McLaren Song?

Back in the early 2010s, the British racing team McLaren produced an animated series about race car drivers called Tooned. In 2013 and 2014, the motor oil company Mobil 1 sponsored a series on the show about the history of oil, essentially acting as an extended and elaborate advertisement for Mobil 1.

The advertising was put on full display in an episode of the show in which the character Professor M. sings a song that recaps the history of oil and encourages the use of Mobil 1.

In the song, he sings, "Mobil 1, put it in your engine. Mobil 1, is the oil for you. Mobil 1, keeps things running smoothly. Mobil 1, is a great lube."

How Is The 'Mobil 1' Song Used In Memes?

The Mobil 1 song started to become a meme in late March 2025 when TikTokers began uploading videos that inserted the music video into photos and videos of the Mobil 1 logo. In typical TikTok fashion, the music video has usually been sped up to make it sound just a little bit more ridiculous.

The song is also being used in more general, nonsensical memes that edge into brainrot territory by being as absurd as possible for no real reason at all. Others are hyping the song up for its catchiness and nostalgia factor.
