My Name is Edwin, continued, I Made the Mimic, refers to a verse in the Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) fan song "Jackie's Box" by YouTuber XTRATUNA in which the silhouette of the character Edwin Murray is shown wearing a trenchcoat, glasses and a top hat. The song was originally known for the My Name is David line, which eventually led to memes about the Edwin verse. The Edwin memes surfaced en masse on Twitter / X and TikTok in February 2025. Many of the memes were about seeing Edwin's silhouette in real life or in other viral videos.

Origin

On December 1st, 2024, YouTuber^[1] XTRATUNA shared an original song called, "JACKIE'S BOX," also known as the "FNAF Mimic Song" or the "Secret Of The Mimic." It received over 5 million views in three months. At the song's 57-second mark (shown below), the FNAF character Edwin Murray appears on screen and his voice says, "My name is Edwin. I made the Mimic." Edwin's side profile is shown in which he's seen wearing a trenchcoat, top hat and glasses.

On December 1st, 2024, X^[4] user @bweemic reposted a different clip from the "JACKIE'S BOX" video known as My Name is David, captioning it, "A banger dropped this morning," gaining over 20,000 likes in three months.

The video started a series of memes about the My Name is David verse, eventually leading to the memes about the My Name is Edwin verse.

For instance, on December 1st, X^[5] user @rapunzel1850 replied to the aforementioned tweet, attaching the My Name is Edwin verse and captioning it, "Me when people ask who made the Mimic." The reply received over 1,600 likes in three months (shown below).

On December 2nd, 2024, TikToker^[2] @livelaughlesbian87 posted the My Name is David verse, gaining over 58,300 likes in three months.

On December 3rd, TikToker^[3] @thetalbertfiles1 reposted the My Name is Edwin verse, writing, "You guys are sleeping on Edwin's verse," gaining over 267,600 likes in three months (shown below).

On December 23rd, 2024, X^[6] user @FNaF_Funnies tweeted the silhouette of Edwin Murray, captioning it, "I hope we never get an official Edwin design because I will forever see him as just this dude now," amassing over 8,200 likes in three months (shown below).

On January 19th, 2025, Instagram ^[7] user @fnaf.jokes posted a screenshot of a TikTok comment in which someone related the silhouette of a teacher to, "'I made the mimic' ahh." The Instagram post received over 102,000 likes in two months (shown below).

On February 10th, TikToker^[8] @chickentenders7810 posted a Druski Dancing meme in which Edwin was layered over Druski using ViggleAI. The video received over 245,800 likes in a month (shown below).

On February 17th, 2025, X^[9] user @SussyMyon tweeted a photoshop of the "Bad Apple!!" music video, showing Edwin's silhouette with the caption, "I think something is wrong with my version of 'Bad Apple' who TF is this?" The tweet amassed over 43,000 likes in 16 days (shown below).
