In the furry community, "babyfur" is a term used to describe someone who likes to roleplay as a child furry character. Roleplaying involves taking on a role of a furry character in their childhood or even infancy, with the roleplayers wearing thematic clothing such as onesies and overalls.

What Is ‘Elon Musk Babyfur Rumor’ And Where Does It Come From?

The Elon Musk babyfur rumor is a viral rumor that claims that American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk at one point attempted to join the babyfur community in the Bay Area, and that he has an active interest in babyfur roleplay.

The rumor that Elon Musk attempted to join the Bay Area babyfur community back in 2009 was started by X user @bnuuyhopper, who on July 25 made the claim in a tweet that went viral.

And on July 27th, another user posted a photograph of a man resembling Elon Musk wearing an owl onesie pajamas (also known as a kigurumi) while rolling a joint. According to the poster, the photograph was sent to them by a Tesla employee in 2021.

The posts were followed by the rumor about Elon Musk being into babyfur roleplay being spread on X / Twitter, with users replying with memes and discussing if there's any truth to the claims.

Is There Supporting Evidence For Elon Musk Babyfur Rumor?

While it's unclear whether the man in the photograph is indeed Elon Musk, there's some circumstantial evidence that Elon Musk may have an interest in roleplay and in the furry fandom. Back in 2019, Elon Musk referred to himself as "fur-curios" when asked if he identified as a furry.

And in April last year, Elon Musk's alternative account @ermnmusk was discovered by users on X. Musk was roleplaying as his own son X AE A-XII on the account, writing posts such as "I will finally turn 3 on May 4th!" and "I wish I was old enough to go to nightclubs. They sound so fun." Initially also a rumor, Musk confirmed that the account belonged to him and that he briefly used it in a deposition in March 2024.

However, there's no direct evidence indicating that Musk has been interested in babyfur roleplay. Maybe another deposition will reveal more at some point in the future.
