A November 2015 post to the /r/Undertale subreddit by Redditor u/Kuudayray inspired one commenter, u/AwfulPunBasedName, to joke that the alternate name for their child would have been "Togore," another possible mixture of "Toriel" and "Asgore."

The joke continued to spread over the following years, with many finding "Togore" to be a much uglier and funnier alternate name for Asriel or Kris.
