Why Is Everyone Talking About A Redditor Having Sex To 'Cbat' By Hudson Mohawke? The Meme Explained

Almost everyone's been guilty of sharing too much information before, but sharing too much information between friends and sharing too much information online is a totally different ballpark. If you share too much online, you run the risk of going viral and never living it down, becoming an eternal footnote in meme history.

There's perhaps been no better example of that this year than the story of one Reddit guy's weird sex music, aka "Cbat," which has quickly become one of the biggest memes in the world, inspiring even the song's producer to comment on it. Here's how.

On September 1st, Redditor TylerLife hopped on /r/TIFU (Today I Fucked Up) to share a story that literally nobody asked him to share.

The post, titled, "My (20F) girlfriend of two years told me the music that I (25M) play during sex is weird and a major turn off," sees the Redditor explain how he's been having sex with his girlfriend for two years to a playlist that includes the song "Cbat" by Hudson Mohawke. He even calls it his favorite song to have sex to, saying it plays almost every time they get busy and that it sets him to the "perfect rhythm for doing the deed."

One day, out of the blue, his girlfriend told him that the song was a turn-off "in a major way." The Redditor took the song off his playlist but admitted that sex "feels awkward now" and that he still thrusts to the tune of the song, even in silence.

For those who aren't aware of the song, he provided a link at the bottom of the post. Hearing the song firsthand is what really set the internet off. The post gained over 130,000 upvotes and was shared on every social media platform out there, becoming a viral sensation within days.

How Is "Cbat" Used In Memes?

Since TylerLife shared the story, people from all corners of the web have come together to laugh at the poor Redditor and react to the story.

One of the main sources of memes is TikTok, where users are posting videos humping the floor to try and match the beat of the song, essentially putting themselves in the shoes of the Redditor. Others are just expressing shock over the story, wondering how someone could possibly think "Cbat" makes a good song.

What Else Is On The Reddit Guy's Playlist?

TylerLife actually posted his full sex playlist, titled "Lovetime," to YouTube a few days after the post went viral. It includes songs like "Love In This Club" by Usher, "Angel" by Shaggy and "I don't wanna do this anymore" by XXXTENTACION, to name a few.

How Did The Reddit Guy React To Going Viral?

On September 4th, TylerLife made a follow-up post to /r/tifu where he explained how he was "overwhelmed" by the response and didn't expect the story to get so big. He also claimed his girlfriend's sister found the post and connected the dots. She shared it with her parents, things got awkward, and now he and his girlfriend are broken up.
