You remember, Trapt, right? That nu-metal band from the early 2000s that sang "Broken" with Amy Lee? Wait, no, that was Seether… did they sing "Paralyzer?" Google tells me that's Finger Eleven… ah! That's right, their big song was "Headstrong."

The early aughts jock jam/goth-adjacent band may not have had much mainstream success of late in terms of music, but they made headlines yesterday following a simply astounding Twitter tirade that saw them rushing to the defense of Donald Trump and then trying to out-dunk anyone who dunked on them.

It started when whichever bandmate runs Trapt's account decided they'd had enough of people dissing the President's response to the Coronavirus outbreak and they weren't going to take it anymore. The first targets were actor Chris Evans and civil rights activist Talbert Swan.

When word got around that Trapt were going full MAGA online, people were quick to try and get in Trapt-related burns, but, perhaps as a result of being locked (trapt?) indoors in the time of Corona, Mr. Trapt evidently had the time to respond to nearly every single one. The ensuing tweetstorm was simply a masterclass in owning the libs epic style.

At one point, Trapt seemed to experiment with a copypasta akin to "What the fuck did you just say to me you little bitch? I'll have you know I have over 2 million monthly Spotify listeners and 2.6 million Pandora listeners."

Amidst all this chaos, people seemed to have a hard time remembering what Trapt was even famous for.

May posters everywhere be inspired by Trapt's commitment to shutting down the haters and providing days' worth of entertaining content.
