Full House is one of the most iconic TV shows out there. As the name suggests, this series follows a large family living under one roof, and that’s basically all the context you need to know if you somehow haven’t seen it. Most of us grew up in a completely different generation from the intended audience, but that didn’t stop us from watching it. It’s one of those quintessential shows that everyone’s seen, something that embodies standard sitcom humor, and somehow we still find it great after all this time.

On January 9th, 2022, Bob Saget passed away. He played the father of the Tanner family on the show and became affectionately known as “America’s Dad.” His show kept millions of us entertained for decades. So in honor of Saget, let’s take a look back on some of the best memes to have come from the show over the years, from intro parodies to Aunt Becky going to jail in real life for college admissions fraud.

In this episode, a few of the kids put a giant hole in one of the walls, which somehow feels like a universal experience. Even though we personally may not have shoved an entire rod into the wall, we’ve all probably broken something and tried to hide it from our parents, even when that something was just ripping a dollar bill in half or spilling a sippy cup on the floor. But aside from the oddly relatable plot of trying to hide damaged property from your dad, there’s an actual meme format that started here rather unexpectedly.

This meme involves Michelle (played by one of the Olsen twins, though they alternated the role, so I’ve lost track and have no idea which one). Michelle is simply minding her own business in this screenshot of her arms outstretched, and the internet predictably photoshopped guns into her hands. And to be fair, it looks really realistic. So much so that many of us see it and think we just missed a specific shot of the show, since we couldn’t remember seeing a little girl in pigtails simultaneously aim a gun at two targets. But even though it’s not real, the original image comes from this episode, and the meme itself is one of the most popular to ever come out of Full House, second only to theme song parodies.

Most Meme Potential: Season 4, Episode 6: "A Pinch for a Pinch"

Somehow, season 4 was where most of the show’s memes came from. We can’t say exactly why, especially since Michelle did nothing to warrant that last one. But either way, there was a very memorable meme to come from this episode, which deals with astrology, a subject that’s already made fun of online constantly, and a lot of modern-day jokes can come from that part of the episode, too.

In this episode, Kimmy, played by Andrea Barber, writes a horoscope column for the school newspaper. When Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) finds out about it, she says, “Horoscope? What’s that, Kimmy? A telescope that can only see your face?” It’s a joke we definitely didn’t get as a kid, but now that you look back on it, it was actually a very witty and impressive joke, like many of the others on the show we never appreciated until we were older. Now, whenever a grown-up fan of Full House finally gets it, they reblog it as a meme, allowing the best kid-friendly (sort of?) roast to live on in infamy.
