Earlier this month, a social media trend known as "How Often Do You Think About the Roman Empire?" emerged on platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok after women initiated the trend by asking the men in their lives, including husbands, boyfriends, fathers and brothers, how frequently they thought about the Roman Empire.

To their surprise, most men revealed that they think about Rome quite often. Over the last couple of weeks, this trend has gained significant popularity, sparking discussions, viral debates and responses from both men and women online as people attempted to understand and explain the phenomenon of men's apparent fascination with the Ancient Roman Empire — with a particular focus on whether a man's answer could be considered a "red flag."

While the initial discussions about this phenomenon started in late 2022, initially prompted by Swedish influencer Saskia Cort (@saskiacort), it only recently began garnering attention alongside other historical meme-related trends such as Napoleon 'There Is Nothing We Can Do', the Pharaoh's Curse and Sisyphus.

In our recent video, host Aztrosist explains how men are seemingly hard-wired to think about the Roman Empire constantly, giving you a rundown of some other recent history memes.
