Last week, the world turned its eyes to Philadelphia as it counted mail-in votes and pushed Pennsylvania over the hump for Joe Biden and delivered him the Presidency. This led to a surge of activity for the city, as some Republicans descended upon the city to try and see if anything untoward was happening and its citizens got out to party in droves. This meant plenty of Gritty sightings in the streets, as well as a new furry monstrosity: Grittney.

The tall, semi-nude abomination before god is the work of cosplayer Riot Rogers, who explained to The Daily Dot that she created Grittney after a painful breakup earlier this year.

“I thought, ‘I’m in an awful place right now and I want to make everyone else suffer. I’m going to make a nightmare in a G-string, and you’re all going to deal with this,'” she said.

Suffer we all did this weekend when a series of Grittney posts went viral.

According to Rogers, Grittney is neither related to Gritty or dating him. Instead, she simply sprung up from the well of human consciousness a full-fledged Gritty stan.

"In the law and history I made up for her in my head, she was like unearthed, the same way he was--like, they dig her out of the foundations of a beauty salon," Rogers says. "In my head, I wanted her to be like a fangirl of Gritty. Like she saw Gritty one day and was like, ‘Oh my god, he’s so bae, he’s everything I want in a man, he’s got the perfect body, look at his beautiful face--just in love with him.'”

In the future, Rogers hopes the Gritty will acknowledge Grittney. "This all could have been prevented if he would just give her a wink," she said.
