Regardless of how you feel about Donald Trump, you gotta admit the man has a propensity for doing really, really weird things. He hugs American flags at rallies. He loves jumping in trucks and pretending to drive them. Also, Obama Netflix?!?!

However, his latest entry into his long list of bizarre moments may be one of his most baffling yet. This morning, he was tasked with handing out Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters on the White House lawn. It's a traditional and simple photo op that should be impossible to mess up, but the man truly cannot go a day without entering Twitter timelines for one reason or another. Today, Trump did this:

The above clip is simply surreal. A young child in a Minions costume walks up to the president, bag in hand, and Trump, for some unknowable reason, places candy on the child's head. For a moment, the child looks around, not understanding what is happening (as they rightfully shouldn't, as no human in history has placed halloween candy on a trick-or-treater's head instead of their bag) and the candy falls limply to the ground. It's a bewilderingly semi-dickish prank not even Michael Scott would pull. It's also insanely hilarious.

A bystander rescued the child's candy from the ground and placed it in their bag, but the damage was done. Twitter immediately marveled at this wacky display of physical comedy.

The clip will surely feed another news cycle and will get blown out of proportion, as seemingly everything Trump-related does, but let's not forget that this is somehow not even the weirdest moment Trump has had with a child at the White House. That honor goes to this beautiful shot that's perhaps the most enduring meme of his presidency:
