What Does 'Reheat Nachos' Mean? The Slang Term About 'Reheating Nachos' Popular On Stan Twitter Explained
A new slang term about "reheating nachos" is confusing many who don't understand the reference.
It's all over so-called "Stan Twitter" at the moment, slowly seeping into other LGBTQ+ meme circles such as FlopTok like nacho cheese dripping through an oven grate. Twitter / X users and TikTokers are obsessed with this term, especially after the 2025 Grammys … but why?
What is the "Reheat Nachos" meme and expression and where did it come from? Let's explain.
What Does 'Reheat Nachos' Mean In Internet Slang?
"Reheating nachos" means to try and fail to co-opt the aura or swag of another person or one's past self, akin to how when nachos are reheated, they're usually soggy, less crispy and not nearly as delicious as when originally cooked.
The term is mostly used to criticize a celebrity or influencer. Alternatively, the term can be used in a flattering way, like one someone says that they reheated their nachos perfectly by using a metaphorical air fryer.

Where Does The 'Reheat Nachos' Meme Come From?
In 2023, a clip from the reality TV show Baddies West went viral on TikTok because it looked like cast member Natalie was eyeing Stunna Girl's plate of nachos with a hint of jealousy.
Thereafter, the term "nachos" was thrown around online, usually via the phrasal template, "X wants Y's nachos." The "X" and "Y" are replaced with famous people, used to joke about the underlying seethe apparently evident in one of them.

How Is 'Reheating Nachos' Used In Memes And Online Discourse?
The term gained mainstream use early last month, following a viral quote tweet posted by X user @hyphenkordei about recording artist Doja Cat needing to reheat some of her old nachos for an upcoming project.
The slang term spread within the fandoms of many artists. For example, when Lady Gaga debuted a new music video this week, listeners believed that she was successfully reheating her nachos.
The term has also been frequently used to dunk on people. No one is safe from the "reheating nachos" allegations.
