Wanted Nachos is a slang term inspired by a viral video of Baddies West cast member Natalie eyeing Stunna Girl's nachos, captioned, "You Can Tell Natalie Lowkey Wanted Stunna Girl's Nachos." The video was posted by TikToker @baddiesfunny in December 2023 and the slang term, "wanted X nachos," which is used to suggest that someone wants a piece of the attention that another person has, garnered viral spread online throughout 2024, particularly on X / Twitter

On December 3rd, 2023, TikToker[1] @baddiesfunny posted a clip from Baddies West in which it looks like Natalie is eyeing Stanna Girl's plate of nachos as they talk, captioned, "you can tell natalie lowkey wanted stunna girls nachos," garnering over 1.2 million views in a year.

On April 27th, 2024, Tenor[2] user issnuffin posted a GIF of the meme. On May 3rd, X[3] user @mspiggyhairgif posted a GIF of Beyonce sitting behind Dua Lipa at the 2024 Grammy awards, writing, "You can tell beyonce lowkey wanted dua’s nachos," garnering over 240 likes in seven months. This is the earliest known use of the term as slang outside the original video.

The term continued to spread online throughout 2024, particularly on X. For example, on June 21st, 2024, X[4] user @armaanification posted, "you can tell marina lowkey wanted charli and lorde’s nachos," garnering over 9,600 likes in six months.
On June 26th, X[5] user @mspiggyhairgif quote-reposted a post about the producer of "BRAT" following Taylor Swift, writing, "You can tell Taylor lowkey wanted Charli’s nachos," garnering over 2,200 likes in the same rough span of time.
On December 10th, X[6] user @onlinegirlie quote-reposted a post by musical artist Tinashe in which she shares a photo of herself being arrested, writing, "HELPPPP she wants luigi’s nachos bad 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭," suggesting she wants to steal attention from Luigi Mangione, garnering over 22,000 likes in six days.
On December 15th, X[7] user @livie_sza posted in response to an X user sharing Olivia Rodrigo's music video for "Good 4 U," "every female gen z artist after this tried making a female rage hit😭 they really wanted her good 4 u nachos," garnering over 205,000 likes in a day.
