There's a new slang term going viral on social media thanks to a YouTube thumbnail posted online earlier this year.

The term is "snowbunny mind control" and it's being used as a reaction image and a general meme on X / Twitter.

So what is snowbunny mind control and why is it such a big meme? Here's what you need to know about the new slang term taking over the internet.

What Does 'Snowbunny Mind Control' Mean?

In May 2024, YouTuber saintlysilas posted a video titled "White Girls Control Underground Music." The video's thumbnail features an image of a Lazer Dim 700 picking his nose next to a white woman. The words "snowbunny mind control" are displayed between the two people. But what does "snowbunny mind control" mean?

In this context, "snowbunny" is an AAVE term used to describe a white woman who prefers to date Black men. So, the term "snowbunny mind control" is used to abstractly describe the influence a white woman considered a snowbunny might have over a Black man.

How Is 'Snowbunny Mind Control' Used In Memes?

As early as June 2024, the thumbnail for Saintlysilas' video started getting reposted online, garnering viral spread. Some people began posting the thumbnail as a reaction image, especially on X. Typically, it's used in response to posts that resemble something that might arguably be said by so-called snowbunnys, or that represents their purported influence on some men.

The meme became increasingly popular in December 2024, breaking free from the reaction image mold to become a catchphrase in general.
